BIORalph
Meznar is a self taught, award
winning photographer whose interest in photography began in his early
teens
when his father gave him his very first camera. Ralph
dabbled
in photography over the next several years and gained considerable
skill and
knowledge in the use of a range of cameras and associated photographic
media. Those
skills and knowledge were further
enhanced as a result of completing a Multi Media course in Applied
Design at
the local TAFE (Mt Gambier) in 2001. During the following two years
Ralph
tutored and lectured in a variety of multi media subjects at the local
TAFE and
from that experience gained the confidence to pursue his interest in
photography in a professional capacity and shortly after established
his own
business trading as Ralph Meznar Unique Photography. Due
to Ralph’s love of photography he
has taken numerous photos of many and varied subjects. Some photos such as McNaught’s comet
and the Southern Aurora were
a matter of being in the right place at the right time. But other
photos were a
result of just getting out there and honing his skill. And whilst Ralph
enjoys
all areas of photography and the challenges each genre presents, it is
photographing people that he enjoys the most. In
2010 Ralph was the winner of the
most outstanding portrait award at the 2010 Millicent Rotary Club
National
Photographic Show. The
winning
portrait was also featured in featured in 1X (One Exposure’s)
international
annual publication for outstanding photography for 2009. The 2009 publication
featured 210
photographers from 33 different countries from around the world. In
2011 at the Millicent Rotary Club
National Photographic Show, Ralph was honored to receive a high
achievement
award for portraiture, a merit award for landscape and a second place
for the
nature award. In the same year Ralph again achieved international
recognition
for outstanding photography when an action shot taken by Ralph was
accepted by
the selection panel of 1X (One Exposure). One Exposure only accept
photos that
stand out, not only in terms of aesthetics and technical quality, but
of story
and feeling as well. Ralph
Meznar is a member of the
Australian Institute of Profession Photography and a portfolio of his
work can

Let's hope it gets good ones soon!
